3:40
God said to Moses, ‘Make a tally of the male first-born among the Israelites who are over one month old, and take a census of their names.
Vayomer Adonay el-Moshe pekod kol-bechor zachar livney Yisra’el miben-chodesh vamalah vesa et mispar shmotam.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, פְּקֹד כָּל-בְּכֹר זָכָר לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, מִבֶּן-חֹדֶשׁ, וָמָעְלָה; וְשָׂא, אֵת מִסְפַּר שְׁמֹתָם.

3:41
Take the Levites to Me (I am God) in place of all the Israelite male first-born. [Also take] the Levites’ animals in place of the Israelites’ first-born animals.’
Velakachta et-haLevi’im li ani Adonay tachat kol-bechor bivney Yisra’el ve’et behemat haLevi’im tachat kol-bechor bevehemat beney Yisra’el.
וְלָקַחְתָּ אֶת-הַלְוִיִּם לִי אֲנִי יְהוָה, תַּחַת כָּל-בְּכֹר בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְאֵת, בֶּהֱמַת הַלְוִיִּם, תַּחַת כָּל-בְּכוֹר, בְּבֶהֱמַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.

3:42
Moses made a tally of all the first-born male Israelites, as God had commanded him.
Vayifkod Moshe ka’asher tsivah Adonay oto et-kol-bechor bivney Yisra’el.
וַיִּפְקֹד מֹשֶׁה, כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֹתוֹ, אֶת-כָּל-בְּכוֹר, בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.

3:43
According to the number of their names, the tally of all the first-born over one month old was 22,273.
Vayehi chol-bechor zachar bemispar shemot miben-chodesh vamalah lifkudeyhem shnayim ve’esrim elef shloshah veshiv’im umatayim.
וַיְהִי כָל-בְּכוֹר זָכָר בְּמִסְפַּר שֵׁמֹת, מִבֶּן-חֹדֶשׁ וָמַעְלָה–לִפְקֻדֵיהֶם: שְׁנַיִם וְעֶשְׂרִים אֶלֶף, שְׁלֹשָׁה וְשִׁבְעִים וּמָאתָיִם.

3:44
God spoke to Moses, saying:
Vayedaber Adonay el-Moshe lemor.
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר.

3:45
Take the Levites in place of all the male first-born Israelites. [Also take] the Levites’ livestock in place of [the Israelites’ first-born] animals. The Levites shall become Mine. I am God.
Kach et-haLevi’im tachat kol-bechor bivney Yisra’el ve’et-behemat haLevi’im tachat behemtam vehayu-li haLevi’im ani Adonay.
קַח אֶת-הַלְוִיִּם, תַּחַת כָּל-בְּכוֹר בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאֶת-בֶּהֱמַת הַלְוִיִּם, תַּחַת בְּהֶמְתָּם; וְהָיוּ-לִי הַלְוִיִּם, אֲנִי יְהוָה.

3:46
[Also take] a redemption for the 273 individuals by which the first-born outnumber the Levites.
Ve’et pduyey hashloshah vehashiv’im vehamatayim ha’odfim al-haLevi’im mibechor beney Yisra’el.
וְאֵת פְּדוּיֵי הַשְּׁלֹשָׁה, וְהַשִּׁבְעִים וְהַמָּאתָיִם–הָעֹדְפִים, עַל-הַלְוִיִּם, מִבְּכוֹר, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.

3:47
This shall be 5 shekels for each individual, according to the sanctuary standard, where the shekel is 20 gerahs.
Velakachta chameshet chameshet shkalim lagulgolet beshekel hakodesh tikach esrim gerah hashakel.
וְלָקַחְתָּ, חֲמֵשֶׁת חֲמֵשֶׁת שְׁקָלִים–לַגֻּלְגֹּלֶת: בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ תִּקָּח, עֶשְׂרִים גֵּרָה הַשָּׁקֶל.

3:48
Give the silver to Aaron and his sons as a redemption for [the first-born who are] in excess [of the Levites].
Venatatah hakesef le-Aharon ulevanav peduyey ha’odefim bahem.
וְנָתַתָּה הַכֶּסֶף, לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו–פְּדוּיֵי, הָעֹדְפִים בָּהֶם.

3:49
Moses took the redemption money for those who were left over [after the majority of first-born] had been redeemed by the Levites.
Vayikach Moshe et kesef hapidyom me’et ha’odefim al pduyey haLevi’im.
וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה, אֵת כֶּסֶף הַפִּדְיוֹם–מֵאֵת, הָעֹדְפִים, עַל, פְּדוּיֵי הַלְוִיִּם.

3:50
The silver that he took from the first-born Israelites consisted of 1365 sanctuary shekels.
Me’et bechor beney Yisra’el lakach et-hakasef chamishah veshishim ushlosh me’ot va’elef beshekel hakodesh.
מֵאֵת, בְּכוֹר בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל–לָקַח אֶת-הַכָּסֶף: חֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת, וָאֶלֶף–בְּשֶׁקֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ.

3:51
Moses gave the silver for those who were redeemed to Aaron and his sons at God’s command. [It was all done] as God had commanded Moses.
Vayiten Moshe et-kesef hapedu’im le-Aharon ulevanav al-pi Adonay ka’asher tsivah Adonay et-Moshe.
וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה אֶת-כֶּסֶף הַפְּדֻיִם, לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו–עַל-פִּי יְהוָה: כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה, אֶת-מֹשֶׁה.
