19:18
A ritually clean person shall then take some hyssop and dip it into the water. He shall sprinkle [the water] on the tent, on all the vessels and persons who were in it, and on anyone who touched a bone, a murder victim or any other corpse, or a grave.

Velakach ezov vetaval bamayim ish tahor vehizah al-ha’ohel ve’al-kol-hakelim ve’al-hanefashot asher hayu-sham ve’al-hanogea ba’etsem o vechalal o vamet o vakaver.

19:19
The ritually clean person shall sprinkle [the water] on the unclean person on the third day and on the seventh day. The purification process is completed on the seventh day, when [the person undergoing purification] must immerse his clothing and body in a mikvah, and then become ritually clean in the evening.

Vehizah hatahor al-hatame bayom hashlishi uvayom hashvi’i vechit’o bayom hashvi’i vechibes begadav verachats bamayim vetaher ba’arev.

19:20
If a person is unclean and does not purify himself, and then defiles God’s sanctuary [by entering it], that person shall be cut off [spiritually] from the community. As long as the purification water has not been sprinkled on him, he shall remain unclean.

Ve’ish asher-yitma velo yitchata venichretah hanefesh hahi mitoch hakahal ki et-mikdash Adonay time mey nidah lo-zorak alav tame hu.

19:21
This shall be to you a law for all times. One who sprinkles the purification water [other than when it is done for the purification ritual] must immerse [both his body and] his clothing. However, if he [merely] touches the purification water, [he must only immerse his body] and then be unclean until evening.

Vehayetah lahem lechukat olam umazeh mey-hanidah yechabes bgadav vehanogea bemey hanidah yitma ad-ha’arev.

19:22
Anything that a person unclean [by contact with the dead] touches shall become unclean. [Moreover] any person touching [him] shall be unclean until evening.

Vechol asher-yiga-bo hatame yitma vehanefesh hanoga’at titma ad-ha’arev.

20:1
In the first month, the entire Israelite community came to the Tzin Desert, and the people stopped in Kadesh. It was there that Miriam died and was buried.

Vayavo’u veney-Yisra’el kol-ha’edah midbar-Tsin bachodesh harishon vayeshev ha’am beKadesh vatamot sham Miryam vatikaver sham.

20:2
The people did not have any water, so they began demonstrating against Moses and Aaron.

Velo hayah mayim la’edah vayikahalu al-Moshe ve’al-Aharon.

20:3
The people disputed with Moses. ‘We wish that we had died together with our brothers before God!’ they declared.

Vayarev ha’am im-Moshe vayomeru lemor velu gavanu bigva acheynu lifney Adonay.

20:4
‘Why did you bring God’s congregation to this desert? So that we and our livestock should die?

Velamah havetem et-kehal Adonay el-hamidbar hazeh lamut sham anachnu uve’irenu.

20:5
Why did you take us out of Egypt and bring us to this terrible place? It is an area where there are no plants, figs, grapes or pomegranates. [Now] there is not even any water to drink!’

Velamah he’elitunu miMitsrayim lehavi otanu el-hamakom hara hazeh lo mekom zera ut’enah vegefen verimon umayim ayin lishtot.

20:6
Moses and Aaron moved away from the demonstration to the Communion Tent entrance, and fell on their faces. God’s glory was revealed to them.

Vayavo Moshe ve’Aharon mipney hakahal el-petach Ohel Mo’ed vayiplu al-pneyhem vayera chvod-Adonay aleyhem.
