25:10
God spoke to Moses, saying,
Vayedaber Adonay el-Moshe lemor.
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר.

25:11
‘Pinchas (a son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest) was the one who zealously took up My cause among the Israelites and turned My anger away from them, so that I did not destroy them in My demand for exclusive worship.
Pinchas ben-El’azar ben-Aharon hakohen heshiv et-chamati me’al beney-Yisra’el bekan’o et-kin’ati betocham velo-chiliti et-beney-Yisra’el bekin’ati.
פִּינְחָס בֶּן-אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן-אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן, הֵשִׁיב אֶת-חֲמָתִי מֵעַל בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, בְּקַנְאוֹ אֶת-קִנְאָתִי, בְּתוֹכָם; וְלֹא-כִלִּיתִי אֶת-בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, בְּקִנְאָתִי.

25:12
Therefore, tell him that I have given him My covenant of peace.
Lachen emor hineni noten lo et-briti shalom.
לָכֵן, אֱמֹר: הִנְנִי נֹתֵן לוֹ אֶת-בְּרִיתִי, שָׁלוֹם.

25:13
This shall imply a covenant of eternal priesthood to him and his descendants after him. It is [given to him] because he zealously took up God’s cause and made atonement for the Israelites.’
Vehayetah lo ulezar’o acharav brit kehunat olam tachat asher kine l’Elohav vayechaper al-beney Yisra’el.
וְהָיְתָה לּוֹ וּלְזַרְעוֹ אַחֲרָיו, בְּרִית כְּהֻנַּת עוֹלָם–תַּחַת, אֲשֶׁר קִנֵּא לֵאלֹהָיו, וַיְכַפֵּר, עַל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.

25:14
The name of the man who was killed along with the Midianite woman was Zimri son of Salu, a prince of the Simeonite paternal line.
Veshem ish Yisra’el hamukeh asher hukah et-haMidyanit Zimri ben-Salu nesi veyt-av la-Shim’oni.
וְשֵׁם אִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל הַמֻּכֶּה, אֲשֶׁר הֻכָּה אֶת-הַמִּדְיָנִית–זִמְרִי, בֶּן-סָלוּא: נְשִׂיא בֵית-אָב, לַשִּׁמְעֹנִי.

25:15
The name of the Midianite woman who was killed was Kazbi, the daughter of Tzur, governor of a paternal line in Midian.
Veshem ha’ishah hamukah haMidyanit Kozbi vat-Tsur rosh umot beyt-av beMidyan hu.
וְשֵׁם הָאִשָּׁה הַמֻּכָּה הַמִּדְיָנִית, כָּזְבִּי בַת-צוּר: רֹאשׁ אֻמּוֹת בֵּית-אָב בְּמִדְיָן, הוּא.

25:16
God spoke to Moses, saying,
Vayedaber Adonay el-Moshe lemor.
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר.

25:17
‘Attack the Midianites and kill them
Tsaror et-haMidyanim vehikitem otam.
צָרוֹר, אֶת-הַמִּדְיָנִים; וְהִכִּיתֶם, אוֹתָם.

25:18
since they attacked you through their plot with Peor, as well as through their sister, Kazbi, daughter of a Midianite prince, who was killed on the day of plague that resulted from Peor.’
Ki tsorerim hem lachem benichleyhem asher-niklu lachem al-devar Pe’or ve’al-devar Kozbi vat-nesi Midyan achotam hamukah veyom-hamagefah al-dvar-Pe’or.
כִּי צֹרְרִים הֵם לָכֶם, בְּנִכְלֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר-נִכְּלוּ לָכֶם עַל-דְּבַר-פְּעוֹר; וְעַל-דְּבַר כָּזְבִּי בַת-נְשִׂיא מִדְיָן, אֲחֹתָם, הַמֻּכָּה בְיוֹם-הַמַּגֵּפָה, עַל-דְּבַר-פְּעוֹר.

26:1
It was now after the plague. God spoke to Moses and Eleazar (son of Aaron the Priest), saying,
Vayehi acharey hamagefah. Vayomer Adonay el-Moshe ve’el El’azar ben-Aharon hakohen lemor.
וַיְהִי, אַחֲרֵי הַמַּגֵּפָה;
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, וְאֶל אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן-אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן לֵאמֹר.

26:2
‘Take a census of the entire Israelite community by paternal lines, [counting] every male over 20 years old who is fit for duty.’
Se’u et-rosh kol-adat beney-Yisra’el miben esrim shanah vamalah leveyt avotam kol-yotse tsava beYisra’el.
שְׂאוּ אֶת-רֹאשׁ כָּל-עֲדַת בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, מִבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה–לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם: כָּל-יֹצֵא צָבָא, בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל.

26:3
Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke to [the Israelites] in the Western Plains of Moab near the Jordan [opposite] Jericho, saying
Vayedaber Moshe ve’El’azar hakohen otam be’arvot Moav al-Yarden Yerecho lemor.
וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן, אֹתָם–בְּעַרְבֹת מוֹאָב: עַל-יַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ, לֵאמֹר.

26:4
‘[Count] those over 20 years old, just as God commanded Moses and the Israelites who had left Egypt.’
Miben esrim shanah vamalah ka’asher tsivah Adonay et-Moshe uvney Yisra’el hayotse’im me’erets Mitsrayim.
מִבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה, וָמָעְלָה, כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת-מֹשֶׁה וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, הַיֹּצְאִים מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם.
