Haftara Noah

Isaiah 54:1 – 55:5

Sing, childless women, you who have not given birth. Break into a song, and cry aloud for the children of the  abandoned are more numerous than the children of the married wife, says HaShem.

Enlarge your tent, and stretch out the curtains of your habitations; do not hesitate; lengthen your cords, and secure your tent pegs.

For you will expand abroad to the right and to the left, until your descendants possess the nations, and populate the desolate cities. Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed. Do not be confounded, for you will not be put to shame; you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Creator is your husband. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He will be called the G-d of the whole earth.

For He called you as a wife abandoned and grieved in spirit. Can a wife of youth be rejected? says HaShem. For a brief moment I left you, but I will gather you with great compassion. In an outburst of anger, for a moment I hid My face from you; but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you, says HaShem. This is like the waters of Noah to me: I swore that the waters of Noah would never again flood the earth; and I pledge that I would not be angry with you and would not scold you.

For the mountains may depart, and the hills may be removed; but My kindness will not depart from you, nor will My covenant of peace be withdrawn, says HaShem. All your children will be taught about God; great will be the peace of your children. In righteousness you will be established. You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and you will be far from ruin, for it will not come near you. No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of My servants, and their due reward from Me, says HaShem.

Say there! Every one who is thirsty, come and drink. He who has no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good. Let your soul delight in abundance. Listen and come to Me. Hear, that your soul will live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the unfailing mercies to David.

Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples. Behold, you will call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you will run to you because of HaShem, for the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.
