VaYetze (וַיֵּצֵא)

Genesis 28:10 – 32:3

32:1
Laban got up early the next morning and kissed his grandsons and daughters goodbye. He then blessed them and left to return home.
Vayashkem Lavan baboker vayenashek levanav velivnotav vayevarech ethem vayelech vayashav Lavan limekomo.
וַיַּשְׁכֵּם לָבָן בַּבֹּקֶר, וַיְנַשֵּׁק לְבָנָיו וְלִבְנוֹתָיו–וַיְבָרֶךְ אֶתְהֶם; וַיֵּלֶךְ וַיָּשָׁב לָבָן, לִמְקֹמוֹ.
 

32:2
Jacob also continued on his way. He encountered angels of God.
VeYa’akov halach ledarko vayifge’u-vo mal’achey Elohim.
וְיַעֲקֹב, הָלַךְ לְדַרְכּוֹ; וַיִּפְגְּעוּ-בוֹ, מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים.
 

32:3
When Jacob saw them, he said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ He named the place Twin Camps (Machanaim).
Vayomer Ya’akov ka’asher ra’am machaneh Elohim zeh vayikra shem-hamakom hahu Machanayim.
וַיֹּאמֶר יַעֲקֹב כַּאֲשֶׁר רָאָם, מַחֲנֵה אֱלֹהִים זֶה; וַיִּקְרָא שֵׁם-הַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא, מַחֲנָיִם.
