2:20 
And the man gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him.
Vayikra ha’adam shemot lechol-habehemah ule’of hashamayim ulechol chayat hasadeh ule-Adam lo-matsa ezer kenegdo.
וַיִּקְרָא הָֽאָדָם שֵׁמוֹת לְכָל־ הַבְּהֵמָה וּלְעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וּלְכֹל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וּלְאָדָם לֹֽא־ מָצָא עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּֽוֹ׃
 

2:21 
And the LORD G-d caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh instead thereof.
Vayapel Adonay Elohim tardemah al-ha’adam vayishan vayikach achat mitsal’otav vayisgor basar tachtenah.
וַיַּפֵּל יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים ׀ תַּרְדֵּמָה עַל־ הָאָדָם וַיִּישָׁן וַיִּקַּח אַחַת מִצַּלְעֹתָיו וַיִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר תַּחְתֶּֽנָּה׃
 

2:22 
And the rib, which the LORD G-d had taken from the man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Vayiven Adonay Elohim et-hatsela asher-lakach min-ha’adam le’ishah vayevi’eha el-ha’adam.
וַיִּבֶן יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים ׀ אֶֽת־ הַצֵּלָע אֲשֶׁר־ לָקַח מִן־ הָֽאָדָם לְאִשָּׁה וַיְבִאֶהָ אֶל־ הָֽאָדָֽם׃
 

2:23 
And the man said: ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’
Vayomer ha’adam zot hapa’am etsem me’atsamay uvasar mibesari lezot yikare ishah ki me’ish lukacha-zot.
וַיֹּאמֶר הָֽאָדָם זֹאת הַפַּעַם עֶצֶם מֵֽעֲצָמַי וּבָשָׂר מִבְּשָׂרִי לְזֹאת יִקָּרֵא אִשָּׁה כִּי מֵאִישׁ לֻֽקֳחָה־ זֹּֽאת׃
 

2:24 
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.
Al-ken ya’azov-ish et-aviv ve’et imo vedavak be’ishto vehayu levasar echad.
עַל־ כֵּן יַֽעֲזָב־ אִישׁ אֶת־ אָבִיו וְאֶת־ אִמּוֹ וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָֽד׃
 

2:25 
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Vayihyu shneyhem arumim ha’adam ve’ishto velo yitboshashu.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם עֲרוּמִּים הָֽאָדָם וְאִשְׁתּוֹ וְלֹא יִתְבֹּשָֽׁשׁוּ׃
 

3:1 
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD G-d had made. And he said unto the woman: ‘Yea, hath G-d said: Ye shall not eat of any tree of the garden?’
Vehanachash hayah arum mikol chayat hasadeh asher asah Adonay Elohim vayomer el-ha’ishah af ki-amar Elohim lo tochelu mikol ets hagan.
וְהַנָּחָשׁ הָיָה עָרוּם מִכֹּל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־ הָאִשָּׁה אַף כִּֽי־ אָמַר אֱלֹהִים לֹא תֹֽאכְלוּ מִכֹּל עֵץ הַגָּֽן׃
 

3:2 
And the woman said unto the serpent: ‘Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat;
Vatomer ha’ishah el-hanachash mipri ets-hagan nochel.
וַתֹּאמֶר הָֽאִשָּׁה אֶל־ הַנָּחָשׁ מִפְּרִי עֵֽץ־ הַגָּן נֹאכֵֽל׃
 

3:3 
but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, G-d hath said: Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.’
Umiperi ha’ets asher betoch-hagan amar Elohim lo tochelu mimenu velo tige’u bo pen temutun.
וּמִפְּרִי הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹךְ־ הַגָּן אָמַר אֱלֹהִים לֹא תֹֽאכְלוּ מִמֶּנּוּ וְלֹא תִגְּעוּ בּוֹ פֶּן־ תְּמֻתֽוּן׃
 

3:4 
And the serpent said unto the woman: ‘Ye shall not surely die;
Vayomer hanachash el-ha’ishah lo mot temutun.
וַיֹּאמֶר הַנָּחָשׁ אֶל־ הָֽאִשָּׁה לֹֽא־ מוֹת תְּמֻתֽוּן׃
 

3:5 
for G-d doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as G-d, knowing good and evil.’
Ki yodea Elohim ki beyom acholchem mimenu venifkechu eyneychem viheyitem ke’Elohim yod’ey tov vara.
כִּי יֹדֵעַ אֱלֹהִים כִּי בְּיוֹם אֲכָלְכֶם מִמֶּנּוּ וְנִפְקְחוּ עֵֽינֵיכֶם וִהְיִיתֶם כֵּֽאלֹהִים יֹדְעֵי טוֹב וָרָֽע׃
 

3:6 
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat; and she gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat.
Vatere ha’ishah ki tov ha’ets lema’achal vechi ta’avah-hu la’eynayim venechmad ha’ets lehaskil vatikach mipiryo vatochal vatiten gam-le’ishah imah vayochal.
וַתֵּרֶא הָֽאִשָּׁה כִּי טוֹב הָעֵץ לְמַאֲכָל וְכִי תַֽאֲוָה־ הוּא לָעֵינַיִם וְנֶחְמָד הָעֵץ לְהַשְׂכִּיל וַתִּקַּח מִפִּרְיוֹ וַתֹּאכַל וַתִּתֵּן גַּם־ לְאִישָׁהּ עִמָּהּ וַיֹּאכַֽל׃
 

3:7 
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig-leaves together, and made themselves loincloths.
Vatipakachnah eyney shneyhem vayede’u ki eyrumim hem vayitperu aleh te’enah vaya’asu lahem chagorot.
וַתִּפָּקַחְנָה עֵינֵי שְׁנֵיהֶם וַיֵּדְעוּ כִּי עֵֽירֻמִּם הֵם וַֽיִּתְפְּרוּ עֲלֵה תְאֵנָה וַיַּעֲשׂוּ לָהֶם חֲגֹרֹֽת׃
 

3:8 
And they heard the voice of the LORD G-d walking in the garden toward the cool of the day; and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD G-d amongst the trees of the garden.
Vayishme’u et-kol Adonay Elohim mithalech bagan le-ruach hayom vayitchabe ha’adam ve’ishto mipeney Adonay Elohim betoch ets hagan.
וַֽיִּשְׁמְעוּ אֶת־ קוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים מִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּגָּן לְרוּחַ הַיּוֹם וַיִּתְחַבֵּא הָֽאָדָם וְאִשְׁתּוֹ מִפְּנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים בְּתוֹךְ עֵץ הַגָּֽן׃
 

3:9 
And the LORD G-d called unto the man, and said unto him: ‘Where art you?’
Vayikra Adonay Elohim el-ha’adam vayomer lo ayeka.
וַיִּקְרָא יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים אֶל־ הָֽאָדָם וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ אַיֶּֽכָּה׃
 

3:10 
And he said: ‘I heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.’
Vayomer et-kolecha shamati bagan va’ira ki-eyrom anochi va’echave.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֶת־ קֹלְךָ שָׁמַעְתִּי בַּגָּן וָאִירָא כִּֽי־ עֵירֹם אָנֹכִי וָאֵחָבֵֽא׃
 

3:11 
And He said: ‘Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?’
Vayomer mi higid lecha ki eyrom atah hamin-ha’ets asher tsiviticha levilti achol-mimenu achalta.
וַיֹּאמֶר מִי הִגִּיד לְךָ כִּי עֵירֹם אָתָּה הֲמִן־ הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִיךָ לְבִלְתִּי אֲכָל־ מִמֶּנּוּ אָכָֽלְתָּ׃
 

3:12 
And the man said: ‘The woman whom Thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.’
Vayomer ha’adam ha’ishah asher natatah imadi hi natnah-li min-ha’ets va’ochel.
וַיֹּאמֶר הָֽאָדָם הָֽאִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר נָתַתָּה עִמָּדִי הִוא נָֽתְנָה־ לִּי מִן־ הָעֵץ וָאֹכֵֽל׃
 

3:13 
And the LORD G-d said unto the woman: ‘What is this thou hast done?’ And the woman said: ‘The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.’
Vayomer Adonay Elohim la’ishah mah-zot asit vatomer ha’ishah hanachash hishi’ani va’ochel.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים לָאִשָּׁה מַה־ זֹּאת עָשִׂית וַתֹּאמֶר הָֽאִשָּׁה הַנָּחָשׁ הִשִּׁיאַנִי וָאֹכֵֽל׃
 

3:14 
And the LORD G-d said unto the serpent: ‘Because thou hast done this, cursed art thou from among all cattle, and from among all beasts of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.
Vayomer Adonay Elohim el-hanachash ki asita zot arur atah mikol-habehemah umikol chayat hasadeh al-gechonecha telech ve’afar tochal kol-yemey chayecha.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהִים ׀ אֶֽל־ הַנָּחָשׁ כִּי עָשִׂיתָ זֹּאת אָרוּר אַתָּה מִכָּל־ הַבְּהֵמָה וּמִכֹּל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה עַל־ גְּחֹנְךָ תֵלֵךְ וְעָפָר תֹּאכַל כָּל־ יְמֵי חַיֶּֽיךָ׃
 

3:15 
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; they shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise their heel.’
Ve’eyva asit beynecha uveyn ha’ishah uveyn zar’achah uveyn zar’ah hu yeshufecha rosh ve’ata teshufenu akev.
וְאֵיבָה ׀ אָשִׁית בֵּֽינְךָ וּבֵין הָֽאִשָּׁה וּבֵין זַרְעֲךָ וּבֵין זַרְעָהּ הוּא יְשׁוּפְךָ רֹאשׁ וְאַתָּה תְּשׁוּפֶנּוּ עָקֵֽב׃
 

3:16 
Unto the woman He said: ‘I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy travail; in pain thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.’
El-ha’ishah amar harbah arbeh yitsbonech veheronech be’etsev teldi vanim ve’el ishech teshukatech vehu yimshol-bach.
אֶֽל־ הָאִשָּׁה אָמַר הַרְבָּה אַרְבֶּה עִצְּבוֹנֵךְ וְהֵֽרֹנֵךְ בְּעֶצֶב תֵּֽלְדִי בָנִים וְאֶל־ אִישֵׁךְ תְּשׁוּקָתֵךְ וְהוּא יִמְשָׁל־ בָּֽךְ׃
 

3:17 
And unto Adam He said: ‘Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying:
Thou shalt not eat of it; cursed is the ground for thy sake; in toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.
Ule-Adam amar ki shamata lekol ishtecha vatochal min-ha’ets asher tsiviticha lemor lo tochal mimenu arurah ha’adamah ba’avurecha
be’itsavon tochelenah kol yemey chayecha.
וּלְאָדָם אָמַר כִּֽי־ שָׁמַעְתָּ לְקוֹל אִשְׁתֶּךָ וַתֹּאכַל מִן־ הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִיךָ לֵאמֹר לֹא תֹאכַל מִמֶּנּוּ אֲרוּרָה הָֽאֲדָמָה בַּֽעֲבוּרֶךָ בְּעִצָּבוֹן תֹּֽאכֲלֶנָּה כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּֽיךָ׃
 

3:18 
Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.
Vekots vedardar tatsmiach lach ve’achalta et-esev hasadeh.
וְקוֹץ וְדַרְדַּר תַּצְמִיחַֽ לָךְ וְאָכַלְתָּ אֶת־ עֵשֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃
 

3:19 
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.’
Beze’at apecha tochal lechem ad shuvecha el-ha’adamah ki mimenah lukachta ki-afar atah ve’el-afar tashuv.
בְּזֵעַת אַפֶּיךָ תֹּאכַל לֶחֶם עַד שֽׁוּבְךָ אֶל־ הָאֲדָמָה כִּי מִמֶּנָּה לֻקָּחְתָּ כִּֽי־ עָפָר אַתָּה וְאֶל־ עָפָר תָּשֽׁוּב׃
 

3:20 
And the man called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Vayikra ha’adam shem ishto Chavah ki hi hayetah em kol-chay.
וַיִּקְרָא הָֽאָדָם שֵׁם אִשְׁתּוֹ חַוָּה כִּי הִוא הָֽיְתָה אֵם כָּל־ חָֽי׃
 

3:21 
And the LORD G-d made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins, and clothed them.
Vaya’as Adonay Elohim le-Adam ule-ishto kotnot or vayalbishem.
וַיַּעַשׂ יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים לְאָדָם וּלְאִשְׁתּוֹ כָּתְנוֹת עוֹר וַיַּלְבִּשֵֽׁם׃
