Sixth Aliyah
4:24
If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
Ki shiv’atayim yukam-Kayin veLemech shiv’im veshiv’ah.
כִּי שִׁבְעָתַיִם יֻקַּם־ קָיִן וְלֶמֶךְ שִׁבְעִים וְשִׁבְעָֽה׃
4:25
And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth: ‘for G-d hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.’
Vayeda Adam od et-ishto vateled ben vatikra et-shemo Shet ki shat-li Elohim zera acher tachat Hevel ki harago Kayin.
וַיֵּדַע אָדָם עוֹד אֶת־ אִשְׁתּוֹ וַתֵּלֶד בֵּן וַתִּקְרָא אֶת־ שְׁמוֹ שֵׁת כִּי שָֽׁת־ לִי אֱלֹהִים זֶרַע אַחֵר תַּחַת הֶבֶל כִּי הֲרָגוֹ קָֽיִן׃
4:26
And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh; then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
Ule-Shet gam-hu yulad-ben vayikra et-shemo Enosh az huchal likro beshem Adonay.
וּלְשֵׁת גַּם־ הוּא יֻלַּד־ בֵּן וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־ שְׁמוֹ אֱנוֹשׁ אָז הוּחַל לִקְרֹא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֽה׃
5:1
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that G-d created man, in the likeness of G-d made He him;
Zeh sefer toledot Adam beyom bero Elohim Adam bidemut Elohim asah oto.
זֶה סֵפֶר תּוֹלְדֹת אָדָם בְּיוֹם בְּרֹא אֱלֹהִים אָדָם בִּדְמוּת אֱלֹהִים עָשָׂה אֹתֽוֹ׃
5:2
male and female created He them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Zachar unekevah bera’am vayevarech otam vayikra et-shemam Adam beyom hibare’am.
זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה בְּרָאָם וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתָם וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־ שְׁמָם אָדָם בְּיוֹם הִבָּֽרְאָֽם׃
5:3
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.
Vayechi Adam shloshim ume’at shanah vayoled bidemuto ketsalmo vayikra et-shemo Shet.
וַֽיְחִי אָדָם שְׁלֹשִׁים וּמְאַת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בִּדְמוּתוֹ כְּצַלְמוֹ וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־ שְׁמוֹ שֵֽׁת׃
5:4
And the days of Adam after he begot Seth were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters.
Vayihyu yemey-Adam acharey holido et-Shet shmoneh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ יְמֵי־ אָדָם אַֽחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ שֵׁת שְׁמֹנֶה מֵאֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:5
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
Vayihyu kol-yemey Adam asher-chay tsha me’ot shanah ushloshim shanah vayamot.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ כָּל־ יְמֵי אָדָם אֲשֶׁר־ חַי תְּשַׁע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וּשְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
5:6
And Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.
Vayechi-Shet chamesh shanim ume’at shanah vayoled et-Enosh.
וַֽיְחִי־ שֵׁת חָמֵשׁ שָׁנִים וּמְאַת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃
5:7
And Seth lived after he begot Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.
Vayechi-Shet acharey holido et-Enosh sheva shanim ushmoneh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַֽיְחִי־ שֵׁת אַֽחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ אֱנוֹשׁ שֶׁבַע שָׁנִים וּשְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:8
And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
Vayihyu kol-yemey-Shet shtem esreh shanah utsha me’ot shanah vayamot.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ שֵׁת שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה וּתְשַׁע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
5:9
And Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Kenan.
Vayechi Enosh tish’im shanah vayoled et-Keynan.
וַֽיְחִי אֱנוֹשׁ תִּשְׁעִים שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ קֵינָֽן׃
5:10
And Enosh lived after he begot Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begot sons and daughters.
Vayechi Enosh acharey holido et-Keynan chamesh esreh shanah ushmoneh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַֽיְחִי אֱנוֹשׁ אַֽחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ קֵינָן חֲמֵשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה וּשְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:11
And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
Vayihyu kol-yemey Enosh chamesh shanim utesha me’ot shanah vayamot.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ כָּל־ יְמֵי אֱנוֹשׁ חָמֵשׁ שָׁנִים וּתְשַׁע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
5:12
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.
Vayechi Keynan shiv’im shanah vayoled et-Mahalal’el.
וַֽיְחִי קֵינָן שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ מַֽהֲלַלְאֵֽל׃
5:13
And Kenan lived after he begot Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years, and begot sons and daughters.
Vayechi Keynan acharey holido et-Mahalal’el arba’im shanah ushmoneh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַיְחִי קֵינָן אַחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ מַֽהֲלַלְאֵל אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה וּשְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:14
And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
Vayihyu kol-yemey Keynan eser shanim utesha me’ot shanah vayamot.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ כָּל־ יְמֵי קֵינָן עֶשֶׂר שָׁנִים וּתְשַׁע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
5:15
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begot Jared.
Vayechi Mahalal’el chamesh shanim veshishim shanah vayoled et-Yared
וַֽיְחִי מַֽהֲלַלְאֵל חָמֵשׁ שָׁנִים וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ יָֽרֶד׃
5:16
And Mahalalel lived after he begot Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.
Vayechi Mahalal’el acharey holido et-Yered shloshim shanah ushmoneh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַֽיְחִי מַֽהֲלַלְאֵל אַֽחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ יֶרֶד שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וּשְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:17
And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died.
Vayihyu kol-yemey Mahalal’el chamesh vetish’im shanah ushmoneh me’ot shanah vayamot.
וַיִּהְיוּ כָּל־ יְמֵי מַהֲלַלְאֵל חָמֵשׁ וְתִשְׁעִים שָׁנָה וּשְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
5:18
And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begot Enoch.
Vayechi-Yered shtayim veshishim shanah ume’at shanah vayoled et-Chanoch.
וַֽיְחִי־ יֶרֶד שְׁתַּיִם וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וּמְאַת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ חֲנֽוֹךְ׃
5:19
And Jared lived after he begot Enoch eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
Vayechi Yered acharey holido et-Chanoch shmoneh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַֽיְחִי־ יֶרֶד אַֽחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ חֲנוֹךְ שְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:20
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died.
Vayihyu kol-yemey Yered shtayim veshishim shanah utesha me’ot shanah vayamot.
וַיִּֽהְיוּ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ יֶרֶד שְׁתַּיִם וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וּתְשַׁע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
5:21
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begot Methuselah.
Vayechi Chanoch chamesh veshishim shanah vayoled et-Metushalach.
וַֽיְחִי חֲנוֹךְ חָמֵשׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד אֶת־ מְתוּשָֽׁלַח׃
5:22
And Enoch walked with G-d after he begot Methuselah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
Vayithalech Chanoch et-ha’Elohim acharey holido et-Metushelach shlosh me’ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ חֲנוֹךְ אֶת־ הָֽאֱלֹהִים אַֽחֲרֵי הוֹלִידוֹ אֶת־ מְתוּשֶׁלַח שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיּוֹלֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
5:23
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years.
Vayehi kol-yemey Chanoch chamesh veshishim shanah ushlosh me’ot shanah.
וַיְהִי כָּל־ יְמֵי חֲנוֹךְ חָמֵשׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וּשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת שָׁנָֽה׃
5:24
And Enoch walked with G-d, and he was not; for G-d took him.
Vayithalech Chanoch et-ha’Elohim ve’eynenu ki-lakach oto Elohim.
וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ חֲנוֹךְ אֶת־ הָֽאֱלֹהִים וְאֵינֶנּוּ כִּֽי־ לָקַח אֹתוֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
