Sixth Aliyah



27:1
Make the altar out of acacia wood. The altar shall be square, 5 cubits by 5 cubits, and 3 cubits high.
Ve’asita et-hamizbe’ach atsey shitim chamesh amot orech vechamesh amot rochav ravua yihyeh hamizbe’ach veshalosh amot komato.
וְעָשִׂיתָ אֶת-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים: חָמֵשׁ אַמּוֹת אֹרֶךְ וְחָמֵשׁ אַמּוֹת רֹחַב, רָבוּעַ יִהְיֶה הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, וְשָׁלֹשׁ אַמּוֹת, קֹמָתוֹ.

27:2
Make protrusions on all four sides as an integral part of [the altar]. Then cover it with a layer of copper.
Ve’asita karnotav al arba pinotav mimenu tihyeyna karnotav vetsipita oto nechoshet.
וְעָשִׂיתָ קַרְנֹתָיו, עַל אַרְבַּע פִּנֹּתָיו–מִמֶּנּוּ, תִּהְיֶיןָ קַרְנֹתָיו; וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתוֹ, נְחֹשֶׁת.

27:3
Make pots to remove its greasy ashes, as well as scoops, sacrificial basins, flesh pokers, and fire pans [for the altar]. All these instruments shall be made of copper.
Ve’asita sirotav ledashno veya’av umizrekotav umizlegotav umachtotav lechol-kelav ta’aseh nechoshet.
וְעָשִׂיתָ סִּירֹתָיו, לְדַשְּׁנוֹ, וְיָעָיו וּמִזְרְקֹתָיו, וּמִזְלְגֹתָיו וּמַחְתֹּתָיו; לְכָל-כֵּלָיו, תַּעֲשֶׂה נְחֹשֶׁת.

27:4
Make a screen out of copper net to go around [the altar]. Place four copper rings on the four corners of the screen.
Ve’asita lo michbar ma’aseh reshet nechoshet ve’asita al-hareshet arba tabe’ot nechoshet al arba ketsotav.
וְעָשִׂיתָ לּוֹ מִכְבָּר, מַעֲשֵׂה רֶשֶׁת נְחֹשֶׁת; וְעָשִׂיתָ עַל-הָרֶשֶׁת, אַרְבַּע טַבְּעֹת נְחֹשֶׁת, עַל, אַרְבַּע קְצוֹתָיו.

27:5
The screen shall be placed below the decorative border of the altar, extending downward until the middle of the altar.
Venatatah otah tachat karkov hamizbe’ach milematah vehayetah hareshet ad chatsi hamizbe’ach.
וְנָתַתָּה אֹתָהּ, תַּחַת כַּרְכֹּב הַמִּזְבֵּחַ–מִלְּמָטָּה; וְהָיְתָה הָרֶשֶׁת, עַד חֲצִי הַמִּזְבֵּחַ.

27:6
Make carrying poles for the altar out of acacia wood covered with a layer of copper.
Ve’asita vadim lamizbe’ach badey atsey shitim vetsipita otam nechoshet.
וְעָשִׂיתָ בַדִּים לַמִּזְבֵּחַ, בַּדֵּי עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים; וְצִפִּיתָ אֹתָם, נְחֹשֶׁת.

27:7
Place the poles in the rings so that the poles will be on the two sides of the altar when it is carried.
Vehuva et-badav bataba’ot vehayu habadim al-shtey tsal’ot hamizbe’ach bis’et oto.
וְהוּבָא אֶת-בַּדָּיו, בַּטַּבָּעֹת; וְהָיוּ הַבַּדִּים, עַל-שְׁתֵּי צַלְעֹת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ–בִּשְׂאֵת אֹתוֹ.

27:8
[The altar] shall be a hollow structure made out of boards. You must make it as you were shown on the mountain.
Nevuv luchot ta’aseh oto ka’asher her’ah otcha bahar ken ya’asu.
נְבוּב לֻחֹת, תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתוֹ: כַּאֲשֶׁר הֶרְאָה אֹתְךָ בָּהָר, כֵּן יַעֲשׂוּ.
