Leviticus 26:3 – 27:24

Seventh Aliyah



27:29
If a human being is declared taboo, he cannot be redeemed and must be put to death.
Kol-cherem asher yochoram min-ha’adam lo yipadeh mot yumat.
כָּל-חֵרֶם, אֲשֶׁר יָחֳרַם מִן-הָאָדָם–לֹא יִפָּדֶה: מוֹת, יוּמָת.

27:30
The land’s tithes, whether of the crops of the soil or the fruit of trees, belong to God, and are thus consecrated to God.
Vechol-masar ha’arets mizera ha’arets mipri ha’ets l’Adonay hu kodesh l’Adonay.
וְכָל-מַעְשַׂר הָאָרֶץ מִזֶּרַע הָאָרֶץ, מִפְּרִי הָעֵץ–לַיהוָה, הוּא: קֹדֶשׁ, לַיהוָה.

27:31
If a person wishes to redeem such tithes, he must add an additional 20%.
Ve’im-ga’ol yig’al ish mima’asro chamishito yosef alav.
וְאִם-גָּאֹל יִגְאַל אִישׁ, מִמַּעַשְׂרוֹ–חֲמִשִׁיתוֹ, יֹסֵף עָלָיו.
