VaEra (וָאֵרָא)

Exodus 6:2 – 9:35

Maftir

9:33
Moses left Pharaoh’s presence, and went out of the city. As soon as he spread his hands out to God, the thunder ceased, and the hail and rain stopped falling to the ground.
Vayetse Moshe me’im Par’oh et-ha’ir vayifros kapav el-Adonay vayachdelu hakolot vehabarad umatar lo-nitach artsah.

9:34
But when Pharaoh saw that there was no longer any rain, hail or thunder, he continued his sinful ways. He and his officials continued to make themselves obstinate.
Vayar Par’oh ki-chadal hamatar vehabarad vehakolot vayosef lachato vayachbed libo hu va’avadav.

9:35
Pharaoh hardened his heart and did not let the Israelites leave, just as God had predicted through Moses.
Vayechezak lev Par’oh velo shilach et-beney Yisra’el ka’asher diber Adonay beyad-Moshe.
