9:1
On the eighth day, Moses summoned Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel.
Vayehi bayom hashmini kara Moshe le-Aharon ulevanav ulezikney Yisra’el.
וַיְהִי, בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי, קָרָא מֹשֶׁה, לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו–וּלְזִקְנֵי, יִשְׂרָאֵל.
 

9:2
He said to Aaron, ‘Take yourself a calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, [both] unblemished, and sacrifice them before God.
Vayomer el-Aharon kach-lecha egel ben-bakar lechatat ve’ayil le’olah tmimim vehakrev lifney Adonay.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-אַהֲרֹן, קַח-לְךָ עֵגֶל בֶּן-בָּקָר לְחַטָּאת וְאַיִל לְעֹלָה–תְּמִימִם; וְהַקְרֵב, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה.
 

9:3
Speak to the Israelites, and tell them to take unblemished [animals]: a goat for a sin offering, a yearling calf and a lamb for a burnt offering,
Ve’el-beney Yisra’el tedaber lemor kechu se’ir-izim lechatat ve’egel vacheves beney-shanah tmimim le’olah.
וְאֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, תְּדַבֵּר לֵאמֹר: קְחוּ שְׂעִיר-עִזִּים לְחַטָּאת, וְעֵגֶל וָכֶבֶשׂ בְּנֵי-שָׁנָה תְּמִימִם לְעֹלָה.
 

9:4
and a bull and a ram for peace offerings. They shall sacrifice these before God along with a meal offering mixed with oil, because God will reveal Himself to you today.’
Veshor va’ayil lishlamim lizboach lifney Adonay uminchah blulah vashamen ki hayom Adonay nir’ah aleychem.
וְשׁוֹר וָאַיִל לִשְׁלָמִים, לִזְבֹּחַ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, וּמִנְחָה, בְּלוּלָה בַשָּׁמֶן: כִּי הַיּוֹם, יְהוָה נִרְאָה אֲלֵיכֶם.
 

9:5
They brought what Moses ordered to the front of the Communion Tent, and the entire community came forth and stood before God.
Vayikchu et asher tsivah Moshe el-peney Ohel Mo’ed vayikrevu kol-ha’edah vaya’amdu lifney Adonay.
וַיִּקְחוּ, אֵת אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה מֹשֶׁה, אֶל-פְּנֵי, אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד; וַיִּקְרְבוּ, כָּל-הָעֵדָה, וַיַּעַמְדוּ, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה.
 

9:6
Moses said, ‘This is what God has commanded. Do it and God’s glory will be revealed to you.’
Vayomer Moshe zeh hadavar asher-tsivah Adonay ta’asu veyera aleychem kevod Adonay.
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה, זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר-צִוָּה יְהוָה תַּעֲשׂוּ–וְיֵרָא אֲלֵיכֶם, כְּבוֹד יְהוָה.
 

9:7
Moses [then] said to Aaron, ‘Approach the altar, and prepare your sin offering and burnt offering, thus atoning for you and the people. Then prepare the people’s offering to atone for them, as God has commanded.’
Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon krav el-hamizbe’ach va’aseh et-chatatcha ve’et-olatecha vechaper ba’adcha uve’ad ha’am va’aseh et-korban ha’am vechaper ba’adam ka’asher tsivah Adonay.
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-אַהֲרֹן, קְרַב אֶל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת-חַטָּאתְךָ וְאֶת-עֹלָתֶךָ, וְכַפֵּר בַּעַדְךָ, וּבְעַד הָעָם; וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת-קָרְבַּן הָעָם, וְכַפֵּר בַּעֲדָם, כַּאֲשֶׁר, צִוָּה יְהוָה.
 

9:8
Aaron went up to the altar, and he slaughtered the calf that he had for a sin offering.
Vayikrav Aharon el-hamizbe’ach vayishchat et-egel hachatat asher-lo.
וַיִּקְרַב אַהֲרֹן, אֶל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ; וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת-עֵגֶל הַחַטָּאת, אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ.
 

9:9
Aaron’s sons brought forth the blood, and dipping his finger in the blood, [Aaron] placed some on the altar’s protrusions. He then spilled out the rest of the blood at the altar’s base.
Vayakrivu beney Aharon et-hadam elav vayitbol etsba’o badam vayiten al-karnot hamizbe’ach ve’et-hadam yatsak el-yesod hamizbe’ach.
וַיַּקְרִבוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֶת-הַדָּם, אֵלָיו, וַיִּטְבֹּל אֶצְבָּעוֹ בַּדָּם, וַיִּתֵּן עַל-קַרְנוֹת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ; וְאֶת-הַדָּם יָצַק, אֶל-יְסוֹד הַמִּזְבֵּחַ.
 

9:10
He burned the fat, the kidneys and the liver lobe of the sin offering. [It was all done] as God had commanded Moses.
Ve’et-hachelev ve’et-haklayot ve’et-hayoteret min-hakaved min-hachatat hiktir hamizbechah ka’asher tsivah Adonay et-Moshe.
וְאֶת-הַחֵלֶב וְאֶת-הַכְּלָיֹת וְאֶת-הַיֹּתֶרֶת מִן-הַכָּבֵד, מִן-הַחַטָּאת–הִקְטִיר, הַמִּזְבֵּחָה: כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה, אֶת-מֹשֶׁה.
 

9:11
He then burned the flesh and skin [of the sin offering] in fire outside the camp.
Ve’et-habasar ve’et-ha’or saraf ba’esh michuts lamachaneh.
וְאֶת-הַבָּשָׂר, וְאֶת-הָעוֹר, שָׂרַף בָּאֵשׁ, מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה.
 

9:12
He slaughtered the burnt offering. Aaron’s sons passed the blood to him, and he dashed the blood on all sides of the altar.
Vayishchat et-ha’olah vayamtsi’u beney Aharon elav et-hadam vayizrekehu al-hamizbe’ach saviv.
וַיִּשְׁחַט, אֶת-הָעֹלָה; וַיַּמְצִאוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֵלָיו, אֶת-הַדָּם, וַיִּזְרְקֵהוּ עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, סָבִיב.
 

9:13
They passed him the cut up parts of the burnt offering, piece by piece, along with the head, and he burned them on the altar.
Ve’et-ha’olah himtsi’u elav lintacheyha ve’et-harosh vayakter al-hamizbe’ach.
וְאֶת-הָעֹלָה, הִמְצִיאוּ אֵלָיו לִנְתָחֶיהָ–וְאֶת-הָרֹאשׁ; וַיַּקְטֵר, עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ.
 

9:14
He washed the entrails and the feet and burned them on the altar along with [the rest] of the burnt offering.
Vayirchats et-hakerev ve’et-hakra’ayim vayakter al-ha’olah hamizbechah.
וַיִּרְחַץ אֶת-הַקֶּרֶב, וְאֶת-הַכְּרָעָיִם; וַיַּקְטֵר עַל-הָעֹלָה, הַמִּזְבֵּחָה.
 

9:15
He brought forth the people’s offering. He took the goat that was the people’s sin offering, and slaughtered it, preparing it as a sin offering, just like the first one.
Vayakrev et korban ha’am vayikach et-se’ir hachatat asher la’am vayishchatehu vayechat’ehu karishon.
וַיַּקְרֵב, אֵת קָרְבַּן הָעָם; וַיִּקַּח אֶת-שְׂעִיר הַחַטָּאת, אֲשֶׁר לָעָם, וַיִּשְׁחָטֵהוּ וַיְחַטְּאֵהוּ, כָּרִאשׁוֹן.
 

9:16
He brought forth the burnt offering, preparing it according to the law.
Vayakrev et-ha’olah vaya’aseha kamishpat.
וַיַּקְרֵב, אֶת-הָעֹלָה; וַיַּעֲשֶׂהָ, כַּמִּשְׁפָּט.
