Leviticus 9:1 – 11:47

Maftir

11:45
I am God, and I brought you out of Egypt to be your God. Therefore, since I am holy, you must [also] remain holy.
Ki ani Adonay hama’aleh etchem me’erets Mitsrayim lihyot lachem l’Elohim veheyitem kedoshim ki kadosh ani.

11:46
This then is the law concerning mammals, birds, aquatic creatures and lower forms of terrestrial animals.
Zot torat habehemah veha’of vechol nefesh hachayah haromeset bamayim ulechol-nefesh hashoretset al-ha’arets.

11:47
[With this law, you will be able] to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between edible animals and animals which may not be eaten.
Lehavdil beyn hatame uveyn hatahor uveyn hachayah hane’echelet uveyn hachayah asher lo te’achel.
