9:24
Fire came forth from before God and consumed the burnt offering and the choice parts on the altar. When the people saw this, they raised their voices in praise and threw themselves on their faces.
Vatetse esh milifney Adonay vatochal al-hamizbe’ach et-ha’olah ve’et-hachalavim vayar kol-ha’am vayaronu vayiplu al-pneyhem.
וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ, מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה, וַתֹּאכַל עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, אֶת-הָעֹלָה וְאֶת-הַחֲלָבִים; וַיַּרְא כָּל-הָעָם וַיָּרֹנּוּ, וַיִּפְּלוּ עַל-פְּנֵיהֶם.

10:1
Aaron’s sons, Nadav and Avihu, each took his fire pan, placed fire on it, and then incense on it. They offered it before God, [but it was] unauthorized fire, which [God] had not instructed them [to offer].
Vayikchu veney-Aharon Nadav va’Avihu ish machtato vayitnu vahen esh vayasimu aleyha ketoret vayakrivu lifney Adonay esh zarah asher lo tsivah otam.
וַיִּקְחוּ בְנֵי-אַהֲרֹן נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא אִישׁ מַחְתָּתוֹ, וַיִּתְּנוּ בָהֵן אֵשׁ, וַיָּשִׂימוּ עָלֶיהָ, קְטֹרֶת; וַיַּקְרִיבוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, אֵשׁ זָרָה–אֲשֶׁר לֹא צִוָּה, אֹתָם.

10:2
Fire came forth from before God, and it consumed them, so that they died before God.
Vatetse esh milifney Adonay vatochal otam vayamutu lifney Adonay.
וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה, וַתֹּאכַל אוֹתָם; וַיָּמֻתוּ, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה.

10:3
Moses said to Aaron, ‘This is exactly what God meant when he said, `I will be sanctified among those close to Me, and I will thus be glorified.”
Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon hu asher-diber Adonay lemor bikrovay ekadesh ve’al-peney chol-ha’am ekaved vayidom Aharon.
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-אַהֲרֹן, הוּא אֲשֶׁר-דִּבֶּר יְהוָה לֵאמֹר בִּקְרֹבַי אֶקָּדֵשׁ, וְעַל-פְּנֵי כָל-הָעָם, אֶכָּבֵד; וַיִּדֹּם, אַהֲרֹן.

10:4
Moses summoned Mishael and Eltzafan, the sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel, and he said to them, ‘Come forth and remove your close relatives from inside the sanctuary. [Bring them] outside the camp.’
Vayikra Moshe el-Misha’el ve’el Eltsafan beney Uzi’el dod Aharon vayomer alehem kirvu se’u et-acheychem me’et pney-hakodesh el-michuts lamachaneh.
וַיִּקְרָא מֹשֶׁה, אֶל-מִישָׁאֵל וְאֶל אֶלְצָפָן, בְּנֵי עֻזִּיאֵל, דֹּד אַהֲרֹן; וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם, קִרְבוּ שְׂאוּ אֶת-אֲחֵיכֶם מֵאֵת פְּנֵי-הַקֹּדֶשׁ, אֶל-מִחוּץ, לַמַּחֲנֶה.

10:5
They came forth and carried [Nadav and Avihu] outside the camp, in their tunics, as Moses had said.
Vayikrevu vayisa’um bechutanotam el-michuts lamachaneh ka’asher diber Moshe.
וַיִּקְרְבוּ, וַיִּשָּׂאֻם בְּכֻתֳּנֹתָם, אֶל-מִחוּץ, לַמַּחֲנֶה–כַּאֲשֶׁר, דִּבֶּר מֹשֶׁה.

10:6
Moses said to Aaron and his sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, ‘Do not go without a haircut and do not tear your vestments; otherwise you will die, bringing divine wrath upon the entire community. As far as your brothers are concerned, let the entire family of Israel mourn for the ones whom God burned.
Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon ule-El’azar ule-Itamar banav rasheychem al-tifra’u uvigdeychem lo-tifromu velo tamutu ve’al kol-ha’edah yiktsof va’acheychem kol-beyt Yisra’el yivku et-hasrefah asher saraf Adonay.
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-אַהֲרֹן וּלְאֶלְעָזָר וּלְאִיתָמָר בָּנָיו רָאשֵׁיכֶם אַל-תִּפְרָעוּ וּבִגְדֵיכֶם לֹא-תִפְרֹמוּ, וְלֹא תָמֻתוּ, וְעַל כָּל-הָעֵדָה, יִקְצֹף; וַאֲחֵיכֶם, כָּל-בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל–יִבְכּוּ אֶת-הַשְּׂרֵפָה, אֲשֶׁר שָׂרַף יְהוָה.

10:7
Do not leave the entrance of the Communion Tent lest you die, because God’s anointing oil is still upon you.’ They did as Moses had said.
Umipetach Ohel Mo’ed lo tets’u pen-tamutu ki-shemen mishchat Adonay aleychem vaya’asu kidvar Moshe.
וּמִפֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד לֹא תֵצְאוּ, פֶּן-תָּמֻתוּ–כִּי-שֶׁמֶן מִשְׁחַת יְהוָה, עֲלֵיכֶם; וַיַּעֲשׂוּ, כִּדְבַר מֹשֶׁה.

10:8
God spoke to Aaron, saying:
Vayedaber Adonay el-Aharon lemor.
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר.

10:9
When you enter the Communion Tent, neither you nor your descendants may drink wine or any other intoxicant; otherwise you will die. This is an eternal law for all your generations.
Yayin veshechar al-tesht atah uvaneycha itach bevo’achem el-Ohel Mo’ed velo tamutu chukat olam ledoroteychem.
יַיִן וְשֵׁכָר אַל-תֵּשְׁתְּ אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ, בְּבֹאֲכֶם אֶל-אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד–וְלֹא תָמֻתוּ: חֻקַּת עוֹלָם, לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם.

10:10
[You will thus be able] to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the ritually unclean and the clean.
Ulehavdil beyn hakodesh uveyn hachol uveyn hatame uveyn hatahor.
וּלְהַבְדִּיל, בֵּין הַקֹּדֶשׁ וּבֵין הַחֹל, וּבֵין הַטָּמֵא, וּבֵין הַטָּהוֹר.

10:11
[You will also be able] to render decisions for the Israelites in all the laws that God has taught you through Moses.
Ulehorot et-beney Yisra’el et kol-hachukim asher diber Adonay aleyhem beyad-Moshe.
וּלְהוֹרֹת, אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל–אֵת, כָּל-הַחֻקִּים, אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֲלֵיהֶם, בְּיַד-מֹשֶׁה.
